Albert Heijn is the first supermarket to use transparent tray-to-tray packaging. The packaging was developed by plastic recycling company Umincorp and Hordijk and consists of 40% recycled PET, of which at least half comes from household packaging waste (MDS rPET).

The Aligning Collating Multipackaging Machine, or ACM, is designed to handle pre-packed individual servings of product directly from a vertical form fill machine (or Vff). The ACM is a fully automated multipackaging machine, used for packaging into pre-made, wicketed polybags. Product Handling Packs from the Vff pass through the Bag inspector and enter the ACM. Within the ACM the packs are aligned in the desired pattern and pushed into a pre-made sack that is then sealed by the integrated sealer. The finished multisack then drops from the machine. Performance The ACM can handle an infeed from the Vff of up to 140 packs per minute. The ACM can produce between 10 and 32 multipacks per minute, depending on the desired configuration and weight (grams) of the packs. Packaging Because of the neat alignment of the packs within the multisack, the outer sacks can be transparent. However, packaging into printed sacks, paper bags, or neutral non-transparent film belongs to the options as well. Furthermore, Jongerius Hanco encourages the use of compostable plastics which the ACM is totally compatible with. These plastics are industrially- and home compostable and therefore a environmental-friendly alternative to ordinairy plastic sacks. Thanks to this new concept, food producers no longer need to wonder how many inspection machines they need to install on their line. They just need to consider which inspections they want to include in their All-in-One inspection system.

Semi automatic tube sealing system, type Gandus TB3 suitable for closing and coding PE and laminated tubes. This easy to operate machine closes the tubes and put a coding into the seal in 1 operation. The device is equipped with a digital temperature controller with adjustable temperature setting. Depending on the thickness and the material composition, the heating time and the cooling time are set. This data can be stored per type of tube in a memory so that you only have to put in the settings once. The height-adjustable table is equipped with a scale for the tube height from 100 to 220 mm. and a stop for the tubeholder. Operation: After the tubeholder is placed against the stop, the tubes are pushed upwards into a V-shape true the lever on the side. After this the lever on the front gives a start pulse and closes the seal bar. The seal timer expires the set time and then the set cooling time expires. During the sealing the readout shows the actual sealing temperature. After expiry of the set time, the seal bar opens automaticly and the tubeholder can be removed. During the sealing time, a new tube holder is filled and the actions mentioned can be repeated again. For the tubes with a diameter of 50 mm. 4 can be placed simultaneously in a tubeholder and 40 mm. or all smaller sizes diameters 6 pieces are placed in a tubeholder.
