In search of more sustainable alternatives Our mission states that we relieve you of your worries by protecting your products, every day. In order to make that happen, we are constantly looking for the best packaging solutions on the market. This task primarily lies with our portfolio managers and purchasing department. They conduct daily research into the latest developments and innovations, in order to find the best and most sustainable solutions for you. During this search, they must also conclude that there are very good initiatives and alternatives, but they are often more expensive or provide less protection. It is therefore important to test as many new products as possible and to include those with the best results in our range. More sustainable solutions for moisture protection We recently completed a case study with our partner in moisture-protective packaging solutions, with significant cost savings. These are used in container storage and transport where metal parts, electronic equipment or natural products need to be protected against the effects of moisture. This is to prevent rust and mold. The proven VCI method is currently widely used in the storage and transport of metal parts. In this method, molecules adhere to the surface of the metal and form a thin, protective layer. This layer prevents moisture and other corrosive elements from reaching the metal. The use of desiccants is an alternative way to counteract the negative impact of moisture. We are all familiar with the small bags of desiccant that we find in a shoebox. Our supplier Absortech applies this method on an industrial scale. And they presented a use case that does not lie.

Domino Printing Sciences has announced the launch of the Dx-Series, the latest generation of CO2 laser coding systems. These state-of-the-art lasers are designed for fast and high-resolution printing of variable data on a wide range of packaging. The Dx-Series lasers code up to 30% faster than the previous generation, without compromising the quality of the code. This makes them ideal for coding complex data, such as 2D codes, including GS1-based QR codes.

The Maturi is an automatic horizontal strapping machine in the high segment. Specially designed to meet the highest standards of horizontal strapping. Suitable for strapping pallet loads ranging from bottles, barrels, crates, etc. In short, all loads are securely strapped. Many versions of this machine are possible. These can be put together using De Witt packaging systems. The standard control program has 10 programs and is easy to program via the intuitive menu. The Maturi strapping machine is suitable for both PP and PET strapping.

The EW-05 e-weighing system is designed for random weighing of prepackaged foodstuffs. The system fully complies with the requirements for e-weighing as stipulated in the Commodities Act and applicable EU directives and is a CE-approved weighing system with NMi certificate TC-8197. With a weighing range of up to 6 kg, the EW-05 offers a reliable solution for legally required checkweighing in production and packaging environments. The system consists of an electronic indicator and a robust weighing platform, optimized for accurate and reproducible weighing. The HP-Touch electronic indicator is equipped with specialized e-weighing firmware. This automatically calculates the net weight and all required e-weighing data, including the average weight, standard deviation, target weight, highest and lowest weight, T1 and T2, and the number of correct and incorrect weighments. Machine number, line number, lot number, item, and employee can be easily entered via the touchscreen or, optionally, via barcode scanning. The indicator features an illuminated graphical color touchscreen, a waterproof control panel, multilingual firmware, and an IP65 housing. A real-time clock allows for date and time printing. Connection to an optional thermal receipt printer is provided via RS-232. The WP30-3/6 kg weighing platform has a dual-range graduation of 1/2 g and is suitable for items weighing 125 g or more. The base is made of powder-coated steel with a stainless steel weighing platform. Optional e-weighing software for Windows is available for management, reporting, and storage of sample results. Printing below the legal minimum weight of 20 g is not possible. The EW-05 stands for control, reliability, and legal certainty in e-weighing.

The EASY form, fill and seal machine is optimized for creating bags from a flat film off of a reel and is suitable for packing many types of food as well as non-food products. It can also be used for manual filling. Due to its compact design and small footprint the EP 250 can be used flexibly in confined areas. This can create a huge risk on contamination with paper or plastic parts into your product. Next to that it is quite undesirable to use a knife or other sharp object in your food approved production environment.
