In both the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry, products are regularly frozen, so that they last longer. Traceability and shelf life are always essential. Special freezer labels have been designed for this that are resistant to extremely cold temperatures and frost formation.
Two types of frozen labels
Frozen labels have a special adhesive on the bottom. There are actually two types of adhesives that apply to frozen labels. The first variant is provided with an adhesive that is resistant to a maximum of -25 C°. These labels are often used in the food industry. The other freezer label has an adhesive that works flawlessly at temperatures as low as -80 C°. This version is ideal for the pharmaceutical industry and is used, for example, with the well-known corona vaccine Pfizer.
Alternative to frozen labels
To label frozen products it is not always necessary to use special frozen labels. Of course, freezer labels are specifically designed for this application and suitable for every situation. However, there is an alternative if the product is labeled non-frozen. In that case, a regular label can already be the right and cheaper solution. Before the products go into the freezer, these standard labels already stick well and the freezing process has no influence on the functioning of the label.
