Gorinchem – The ten finalists for the 2027 Gouden Noot, the packaging competition organized by the NVC Packaging Center, have been announced and will be on display during Empack & Packaging Innovations 2027 at Brabanthallen Den Bosch. The competition recognizes packaging that excels in innovation, sustainability, functionality, and technical quality. On April 8, 2027, the gold, silver, and bronze winners will be announced. The ten finalists will then be on display at Empack & Packaging Innovations 2027, where visitors can get an up-close look at the latest developments in packaging design and packaging technology.
What is the Gouden Noot?
The Gouden Noot is an international packaging competition organized by the NVC Packaging Centre and is considered a prestigious award for packaging innovation. Since 1958, the competition has been spotlighting innovative packaging solutions. The expert jury evaluates entries based on criteria such as innovation, sustainability, functionality, ease of use, and added value within the packaging chain.

NVC Packaging Centre as a partner of Empack
The NVC Packaging Centre is an international knowledge institute dedicated to sharing knowledge, stimulating innovation and connecting professionals within the packaging supply chain. What happens next in the competition?
On 17 September 2026, the ten finalists will present their packaging innovations to the full panel of industry experts. During this second round of judging, the jury will decide which entries will be awarded gold, silver and bronze. The awards ceremony will take place on 8 April 2027 at the iconic A’DAM Tower in Amsterdam.
On 14 and 15 April 2027, the ten finalists will be on display at Empack & Packaging Innovations 2027 at Brabanthallen Den Bosch. Visitors will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the selected packaging innovations there.
