Empack 2026 Aftermovie: a look back at the packaging industry’s gathering

Empack 2026

Empack 2026 turned the Evenementenhal Gorinchem into a packaging-focused event on 14, 15 and 16 April. For three days, the exhibition floor provided the stage for 250 players from the packaging industry, whilst the knowledge programme centred on PPWR, sustainability and innovation. In the aftermovie below, you can relive this gathering of the packaging industry.

The entire supply chain under one roof

From cobots and automated packaging lines to new materials: the entire supply chain was represented on the exhibition floor. Companies such as Fuji Benelux, OPACKGROUP, De Koningh Coding & Labeling and Tallpack International demonstrated how they are addressing current issues such as cost control, sustainability, labour shortages and safety.

Knowledge that can be put into practice straight away

In the theatres, experts delved into topics such as circular plastics, PPWR, AI applications in logistics, plant-based innovations and future-proof warehouses. The sessions offered concrete insights and real-world case studies, enabling visitors to take home ideas and solutions they could put into practice straight away.

New initiatives bring people, knowledge and innovation together

This edition also introduced several new initiatives. As part of the ‘Verpakkingsvrouw Nederland’ initiative, in collaboration with the NVC Packaging Centre, Kim Stemkens (Jumbo Supermarkets) was named ‘Verpakkingsvrouw Nederland 2026’ in recognition of her contribution to the sector. At ‘Dokter Empack’, visitors received advice on their most pressing packaging challenges during short consultations. The newly introduced Innovation Award put the spotlight on the most innovative product on the exhibition floor: Kortho won with its TI series featuring the patented Robocap™ system.

Smart technology also took centre stage. During ‘Pitch Your Smart Product’, six companies presented their smart packaging solutions. Xampla’s Morro Coating was named the most groundbreaking smart packaging of 2026 by the expert jury.
