Packaging journalist Erik Kruisselbrink

My name is Erik Kruisselbrink and I recently started working for Empack Netherlands as a freelance packaging journalist. In that capacity I write a number of subject-specific articles in the run-up to the upcoming Empack in Utrecht on 31 March, 1 & 2 April 2020. By using those articles, Empack is able to give both potential exhibitors and visitors a better picture of what to expect during Empack.

Since 2003 I have been active as a packaging journalist. Via Pakblad I ended up with the editors of Packaging Management and Packaging. Since September 2014 I work as a freelancer for Verpakking & Label Magazine, which is a magazine produced by Roularta in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Since 2006 I have also been a member of the International Packaging Press Organization (IPPO), a global association of packaging journalists and since 2014 of the Association of Dutch Packaging Experts (VNV).

Seamless transition

In Belgium Packaging & Label intensively work together with Easyfairs regarding Empack and Get Smart (in) Packaging. The last event saw its successful scoop at the Empack in Mechelen last October, with a high-quality seminar program and a festive awards ceremony. In addition to the Get Smart (in) Packaging Awards, the Greener Packaging Awards and the Trends Gazellen Packaging were also awarded.

The collaboration with Empack Netherlands therefore fits in seamlessly with my current activities. I think it is a great challenge to be able to contribute to the further strengthening of this highly regarded trade fair, which has an appeal to the entire Benelux.
