Unroll, press or blow off labels on your packaging
Unroll or press labels onto your packaging When the carrier is flat, it is best to choose 'unroll' or 'press'. With a normal flat packaging, unrolling the label onto the carrier is the simplest and correct way to apply it. 'Pressing' is the best option when the wearer also has other obstacles, such as raised edges. Blow off labels if the surface is not flat When the surface or packaging is not flat, for example with meat or vegetable packaging, blown-off labels are increasingly used. The unrolled labels are first sucked in and then blown off onto the carrier with considerable pressure. This is done with the highest speed and accuracy. Whether you work with blank or partly pre-printed labels, your production can always continue without any delay. Smart automation The OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of production lines is becoming increasingly important. In addition to machine reliability, an efficient production process also requires smart deployment of automation. We are happy to realize this combination for you with Smart Software Solutions. From standard label software to custom control of all your coding and labeling equipment across multiple production lines with database links and validation processes. Always a suitable solution Always get good advice for a suitable labeling machine or print & apply system, which runs seamlessly with your throughput speed. Choose a system that is the most maintenance-free and gives you the greatest savings. With an authorized dealership in the Netherlands for a large number of leading brands, we always have the right solution for you.

Waste separation hospital public spaces
During the search for a stylish waste bin for separate collection, the Oost-Limburg Hospital (ZOL) came across Engels. The sleek appearance of the waste stations and the possibility to determine the number of fractions and the fraction colors perfectly matched the wishes. In addition, the waste station has a solid construction, making it very suitable for public areas in the hospital.

Waste separation in Zoo Planckendael
In public places that are visited by a large number of people, a lot of waste is generated. With 1 million visitors each year, Planckendael Zoo is one of those places. The waste that is produced on such a trip varies from drink bottles to paper tokens or chip bags. Planckendael ensures that this waste does not simply end up in the park and encourages its visitors to separate the waste as well. Zoo PlanckendaelZoo Planckendael was looking for a solution to replace the existing litter bins (standard 2-wheel containers) with a look that fits in with the natural character of the domain, but is adaptable to the various themes in the park. The new waste units must be user-friendly for both young and adult visitors, and for those emptying the units. The preference was for the separation of residual waste and PMD. With this information, Engels set to work to design a waste unit that would meet these requirements. A test phase with several prototypes resulted in the final version. The units have been made as attractive as possible to encourage use and prevent misuse. The construction of the disposal flap was a challenge: child-friendly but not accessible to squirrels. The latter are numerous in the park and love the food scraps they find among the waste. The disposal flaps are fitted with sloping edges and a large handle so that they can be used safely by children. In addition, user-friendliness is very important for the collectors. Each waste bin has two doors at the front, which can be locked. On the inside there is a pull-out drawer with 2 bag holders. The waste bags are thus easily accessible and can be replaced in a handy way. Moreover, the waste units are very easy to move and can be used flexibly throughout the zoo. Why is a printhead of a continuous inkjet printer essential for uptime?
5 Questions about the printhead of your small character inkjet printer: When comparing small character inkjet printers, the printhead is essential. Printheads are quickly forgotten, but they actually play a crucial role. The printhead produces the coding. With a robust printhead that requires no daily intervention, you save time on manual cleaning, minimize the risk of damage, and ensure clear and consistent codes. This leads to more efficient production. 1. What are the cleaning intervals? A printhead with efficiently built-in automatic cleaning significantly extends the cleaning intervals, preserving not only the operating time but also saving valuable time and fluids. 2. Are critical components protected? A printhead consists of many components. To ensure a long life for the printhead, these components must be well-protected. A sealed printhead that protects critical components reduces the risk of damage and repairs. 3. Does the printhead require manual adjustment? A printhead that requires no adjustments, without fragile or moving parts, minimizes the risk of downtime on your production line. 4. How and where do we measure ink thickness (viscosity)? Throughout the day, the printer's temperature and the thickness of the ink change. A printhead that measures temperature and jet speed in real-time within the head itself enables the printer to automatically make the necessary adjustments to maintain consistent print quality. 5. What shape do the deflection plates have? The deflection or high-voltage plates in a printhead affect the printer's uptime. A printhead with curved plates reduces charge concentration and the likelihood of ink buildup or high-voltage errors, prolonging the time before cleaning is necessary.

Wood is gold!
EPAL Many retailers use wooden packaging to safely transport their products. They prefer to use pallets, pallet boxes or crates with standard dimensions for this purpose. With the pallets that are provided with a so-called EPAL coding, they have this guarantee. The dimensions and specifications of these Euro pallets have been established by the European Pallet Association (EPAL). To recognize the origin and type, the pallets have brand marks, or a code. These Euro pallets are also provided with the ISPM 15 marking. The EPAL Euro pallets are exchanged throughout Europe. IPPC mark When wooden pallets are exported or imported outside the European Union, they must bear the IPPC mark (International Plant Protection Convention). These pallets must undergo a 'Heat Treatment' according to the ISPM 15 requirement to get this mark. More and more countries are making the requirements of ISPM 15 mandatory for the import of wooden packaging. Large character inkjet For you as a producer or repairer of pallets, pallet boxes or crates, the necessary codes on your wooden packaging are essential. Of course you want to guarantee your customers safe transport of their products. Previously, these codes were often burned into the pallets. However, this method of coding created a fire hazard. Code your pallets with large character inkjet. This way of coding not only ensures a clear and durable marking, but is also safe. Our large character inkjet systems from Matthews are extremely suitable for providing your wooden packaging with the necessary codes. These robust and reliable inkjet systems mark at a speed of no less than 244 meters per minute. With these printers you are guaranteed the best print on your wooden packaging. Our systems are also officially approved by EPAL.
