      Reducing the amount of plastic litter is badly needed, because the negative effects on the environment are great. This also applies to single-use plastic products. Under the EU Directive 2019/904, drinks may in the future only be sold in plastic packaging if the cap remains attached to the containers. This has major consequences for the producers in the beverage industry who can experience problems with their cap inspection machines. EU Directive 2019/904 For producers, this directive means that the plastic containers must be adapted to a variant in which the caps or lids are attached to the containers. This adjustment has major consequences for the entire production line. Think of all machines that are integrated in the line. This also applies to the control and inspection machines that inspect the products for food safety. Control and inspection For many control and inspection systems, after adjusting the plastic containers, applies that they cannot immediately inspect the products without adjustments. Most systems are not even able to monitor these new products at all. The government’s hard deadline makes it clear that manufacturers cannot postpone their decision until the last minute. Making new molds and retrofitting and rebuilding old molds takes a lot of time. All stakeholders must make the switch at the same time, although for many it remains to be seen which variant will eventually become dominant. With every month that goes by without a solution, it becomes less likely that European markets will be able to switch in time. Ook de positie van de lineair is aangepast waarmee schillende oppakkoppen zoals vacuüm en klemsystemen al dan niet kantelbaar gewisseld worden in enkele minuten. Daarmee is het mogelijk duurzame verpakkingen zoals flat board skin, flatpacks, skinpacks, maar ook groente en fruit die meer en meer in kartonnen wikkels of banderol verpakt zijn, met de vernieuwde CLP efficiënt verwerkt worden.       Arteagripper for Cobots Compact, light and energy saving – especially for use with Cobots There are three versions of this new vacuum areagripper and there is an optimal version for most applications. The version with a built-in electric pump is a technical ingenuity to work energy efficiently and without compressed air. Ideal for companies and applications that strive for compressed air-free and therefore energy-efficient production. The variant with built-in ejector has a multi-chamber ejector with blow-off function and weighs only 1,360 grams. The standard version is equipped with a connection for an external vacuum pump, ideal for companies with an existing vacuum supply or porous products. A built-in intelligent control, with automatic energy saving, makes the Cobot Smart Gripper a very economical gripper. All variants have a built-in display showing the actual and target (setpoint) vacuum level. Process parameters can be set using buttons next to the display. The flange connection to the cobot complies with the ISO 9409-1 standard. Thanks to the user-friendly software, the surface gripper can be set up and operated intuitively.       Concorp produces millions of kilos of sugar confectionery every year. For this, Concorp has flexible and certified state-of-the-art production facilities and a wide range of production techniques. To ensure that all products are of good quality, Concorp works in accordance with the guidelines of IFS and BRC. Concorp Jirnsum now has 50,000 confectionery crates in circulation for the internal logistics and storage of the confectionery. These crates fit within Concorp's responsible and critical production policy with regard to hygiene and quality control. Confectionery crates are unique crates specially designed for the storage and preservation of confectionery. Remarkable about the design are the stacking corners and stacking legs. The stacking legs secure the crates during stacking and the stacking corners ensure that there is sufficient air circulation so that the confectionery can be preserved at the right temperature in the context of quality preservation. The perforation in the crates also contributes to this. This perforation is deliberately made very finely meshed, so that the candy cannot fall out and no impressions get into the candy. The crates are made of high-quality food-grade HDPE and are particularly durable. The reusable packaging is durable, lasts for years and is 100% recyclable. New plastic crates are made from the recycled material. The sturdy crates are filled with about 10 kilos of candy per crate, which is also no problem for the lowest crate in the stack. With an outer dimension of 570x370x140 mm, these crates are very handy and ergonomically easy to handle. The long-term and pleasant cooperation between Concorp and Schiphorst has existed for several decades and started with the supply of confectionery crates. In addition to confectionery crates, Schiphorst now also supplies plastic pallets and pallet boxes to Concorp.

      In August 2025, DL Packaging also delivered a fully refurbished Rovema VPR 320 VFFS machine to a customer in Germany. This machine is now successfully packaging 1–2 kg stand-up block bottom bags for milk powder and can produce up to 22 bags per minute, with bag weights ranging from 1 to 2 kg. Finding the right solution together In collaboration with our German representative, the customer explored the ideal packaging solution for their milk powder product. DL Packaging proposed a refurbished Rovema VPR 320 vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machine, capable of producing pillow bags up to 320 mm wide. This covers the current formats and allows for future expansion, such as 5 kg bags. The customer also opted for a side-folding device to produce stand-up block bottom bags, along with additional features such as Videojet DataFlex printers for integrated date and batch coding. Once everything was clear and agreed upon, the refurbishment project could begin. From factory to production After a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at our facility, DL Packaging also handled the complete transportation to the customer.Our service engineer supported the on-site unloading, followed by commissioning and operator training. Precise dosing for powder products A brand-new SDX dosing system was supplied, with a screw tailored to the characteristics of the milk powder. The SDX features a 35-liter hopper, a fill-level sensor, and a swivel-out screw for efficient cleaning and easy tool changes. The dosing platform ensures safe and convenient handling during operation and maintenance. We thank the customer for choosing Rovema again, this time as a Second Life solution.
