The switch to GS1 QR codes has significant implications for the way products are coded and labelled. In this session, we will explore the practical challenges that companies face on the production line when transitioning from linear barcodes to 2D codes. We will discuss, amongst other things, how data content, code size, error correction and packaging affect readability throughout the supply chain, the stability of the printing process and operational efficiency. Drawing on practical experience, we will demonstrate which choices are often underestimated and why these are crucial early on in the process.
