Packaging

You only get one chance to make a first impression. And that impression starts with the packaging. Packaging comes in all shapes and sizes. At Empack, we largely distinguish between two packaging universes. On the one hand, consumer packaging is the typical branded packaging you find in supermarkets. Boxes, bottles, trays, tubes, bags, tubs, cans, sachets, aerosols, etc. But before these products reach the store shelves, they are packaged in industrial packaging, either in corrugated cardboard boxes, wrapped on pallets, or as bulk products in crates, bags, or drums.

If there is one industry that is constantly challenged, it is the packaging industry. Trends follow each other in rapid succession. Due to changing regulations, new technologies, fierce competition on the shelves, and increasingly critical consumers, developments are happening at lightning speed. Issues we will be addressing during Empack include:

What is happening at the policy level with regard to packaging in the Netherlands, Europe, and worldwide?
What do you need to take into account when optimizing your packaging process in the short term, but also in the long term?
What are the possibilities and trends in reusable packaging?
What are the preconditions for achieving sustainable reusable packaging?
What role does COVID-19 play in the economic climate? And is this leading to stagnation in sustainable developments?
