Female power in the packaging sector in the spotlight
Empack Nederland and the NVC Packaging Centre are proud to launch the very first edition of Packaging Woman Netherlands. This new initiative puts the spotlight on female professionalism within the packaging sector, thereby promoting the sustainable strengthening of the field. The election aims to show how much knowledge, creativity, and leadership women bring to the world of packaging, a sector that is indispensable for innovation, the circular economy, and sustainable growth. The initiators are partly inspired by the SAGE (Sustainable Ageing) movement, which focuses on a sustainably growing society.
Appointment during Empack
Any woman with Dutch nationality or employed by a company based in the Netherlands with at least one year of experience in a packaging role can apply or be nominated. The festive appointment of the first Packaging Woman of the Netherlands will take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 4 p.m. during Empack at Evenementenhal Gorinchem.
A committee of leading female professionals will assess the candidates. The elected Packaging Woman will join this committee herself in the run-up to the appointment of her successor in 2027.

The Packaging Woman Netherlands 2026 is someone who, in the period following her appointment, is able and willing to contribute to the further development of female professionalism in packaging in the Netherlands and beyond. She sets her own agenda and is supported in this by the staff of both Empack Netherlands and NVC Packaging Centre, wherever she wishes. As mentioned, she will also sit on the Committee for the appointment of the Packaging Woman 2027, which will also serve as a sounding board for her ideas. Specifically, NVC Packaging Centre will support her by giving her free access to all NVC association activities, as well as NVC training courses and workshops. The Empack Nederland organization offers her a platform/stage during the trade fair. In addition, Empack Nederland will provide access to all European packaging trade fairs that are organized. Empack Nederland and NVC Packaging Centre support her with publicity through mailings or posts on professional social media (particularly LinkedIn) if desired.
