MeatPad
For longer shelf life and greater appeal of fresh meat and fish MeatPads from McAirlaid‘s have been developed for the specific requirements of various meat and fish products. They meet the challenge of absorbing all liquids released within the packaging. This keeps bacterial growth to a minimum and the goods in the packaging remain fresh and attractive for longer. The core of all MeatPads consists of pure cellulose, our SuperCore®, which is produced in a special process without synthetic binders or adhesives. Compared to conventional airlaids, this ensures a significantly higher absorption capacity, as the cellulose fibers are not partially sealed by binders. For special absorption requirements, superabsorbent fibers (SAF) are added to highly absorbent MeatPads.

MeatGuard
Particularly high absorption capacity, even under pressure A fresh, appetizing presentation of goods signals quality and has a significant influence on customers‘ positive purchasing decisions. On their way from the producer to the consumer, McAirlaid‘s pads, which are individually tailored to the respective food, ensure high-quality and longerlasting freshness, hygiene and an attractive appearance on the shelf. Regardless of whether beef, pork, chicken, lamb or even a whole fish is to be packaged - MeatGuard reliably absorbs escaping liquids. In this way, MeatGuard ensures more attractive looking goods, less germ formation and thus has a positive effect on the shelf life of the food. Due to its higher absorption performance, MeatGuard is suitable for products that release large quantities of meat juices. The liquid is bound in the core and kept there under pressure. MeatGuard is the ideal product for attractive-looking packaging, especially for sliced meat and goulash, which lose more meat juices due to their increased surface area. MeatGuard variants: Meat Guard is available in standard formats and various colors on rolls or cut to size. MeatGuard application areas: • MAP trays • Plastic and cardboard trays • Vacuum bag • Gastro trays

Vacuum SkinPad
Long-lasting attractive appearance Specially for meat and fish in vacuum packs The VSPad makes vacuum-packed meat and fish a real margin winner in the chiller cabinet, as markdowns can be significantly reduced in this type of packaging. Higher-priced steaks and fillets of beef or fish in particular are fixed on printed cardboard carriers with a sealing film for vertical storage. This packaging has the particular advantage for the consumer of being able to assess the quality product visually in the packaging. This makes it all the more important to maintain the high quality appearance of the skin-wrapped food in the long term and to absorb the natural secretion of the juice in order to prevent blood blisters or fluid build-up at the bottom of the packaging. And this is exactly where the VacuumSkinPad comes into play, which is completely invisible when optimally positioned thanks to its small dimensions and reliably fulfills its required absorption performance. In combination with the VacuumSkinPad, product presentations in the chiller cabinet are optimal in terms of quality and hygiene and always look like freshly packaged products. The outer sealing film insulates against oxygen to prevent oxidation and color changes. This preserves the original color, good taste and nutritional values for as long as possible. A further consumer benefit is that no liquids escape when the packaging is opened and these are safely bound in the pad. In addition, the plastic content of this packaging is reduced to a minimum and it is easy to dispose of and recycle.

MAP EnhancerPad
More shelf life thanks to inert gas development Oxygen is a key factor in food spoilage, which is why many foods are packaged in a protective gas atmosphere to slow down bacterial growth and extend shelf life. In this respect, shielding gas is also an essential component for • improve food quality and shelf life, • to be able to dispense with preservatives, • reduce food waste and • improve the attractiveness of packaged products. However, meat and fish in particular also absorb part of the protective gas composition via their surface. This can lead to changes in the composition and a reduction in the volume of gas inside the packaging, causing it to collapse. This is precisely where the MAP EnhancerPad comes in, absorbing the released liquid and emitting additional protective gas to extend the shelf life and prevent the packaging from collapsing. At the same time, the MAP EnhancerPad makes it possible to reduce the volume of protective gas required, so that plastic packaging can also be significantly reduced in size, which has numerous positive effects. Convincing reasons for the MAP Enhancer Pad: • High absorption capacity thanks to SuperCore® cellulose - with additional superabsorber if required • Active production of CO2 on contact with released liquid • Longer shelf life due to active improvement of the protective atmosphere • Adaptation of the volume of CO2 released to the requirements of the packaged food product • Avoidance of collapsing packaging • More attractive packaging without free liquids • Significant reduction in packaging size and saving on plastic • Lower logistics costs in transportation and storage thanks to significantly smaller packaging

Beef AgerPad
Beef maturity test with top marks BeefAger brings a new dimension of quality to the maturing process of beef in vacuum packs. Thanks to the high-performance SuperCore® absorbent core, the BeefAger pad actively optimizes the maturing process of beef. BeefAger offers the possibility of simulating a dryaging process in vacuum packaging - with outstanding results. The BeefAger Pad was thoroughly tested by the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL) in a maturation study in the areas of sensory properties and meat quality, among others. Compared to other vacuum packs, BeefAger clearly achieved the best results. The meat quality improves in tenderness, beef flavor and juiciness, without any disadvantages.

FishPad
For more freshness and leak-proof transportation Every year, 24,000 tons of fresh fish land at Frankfurt Airport alone. Whether tuna from Sri Lanka, swordfish from the Maldives or red snapper from the tropics - all must be chilled without interruption during transportation by air or land to guarantee absolute freshness, direct processability and the best possible taste. This transport usually takes place in lightweight EPS boxes, which are filled with ice and have excellent insulating properties. However, any melt water that can simply run off on the ship via leakage holes in the boxes is undesirable on an airplane or in refrigerated transporters. No liquid should be allowed to escape, but the fish should not swim in its own juices either, but should be stored in a cool and dry place. This is precisely where the FishPad comes into its own, as it can hold up to 4 liters of protein-based liquid and water depending on its size, binds it securely in the core and does not release it even under weight pressure. In addition to the practical function for transportation, FishPads also reduce the microbiological situation and the growth of germs, so that the transported fish or seafood stays fresh for longer and retains its quality. Developed for industrial packaging and leak-proof transportation • Available in different sizes • Scalable absorption strengths through SAP* • Product for securing transport crates • Unique product design Customizable dimensions for packaging-efficient inserting machines • Size: Perfect fit • Surface: Non-sticky and easy to pick up • Stability: Perfectly balanced • Insert: Simple function

FruitPad
Soft fruit is precious, very sensitive and has a limited shelf life. Packaging, storage and transportation have a decisive influence on shelf life. The journey can take thousands of kilometers before the berries have to convince the consumer to buy them on the self-service shelf. McAirlaid‘s has developed a new generation of fruit pads for the optimal marketing of soft fruit. The precious berries are optimally protected by the FruitPad on their journey to the customer. The micro-pore technology greatly reduces the formation of mold. The FruitPad is breathable, supports ventilation in the packaging and absorbs condensation. This means that the fruit reaches the consumer as if it had just been picked after a long journey. Compared to other types of packaging, the amount of waste can be reduced by up to 55% when using FruitPads.
