Koenig & Bauer Coding is a manufacturer and supplier of various coding and marking technologies. The products are developed and manufactured in Germany and can be integrated into almost all applications. Whether it concerns the direct coding of a product, or coding on the primary, secondary or tertiary packaging, we provide a suitable solution for your application. The product range includes small character inkjet printers, thermal inkjet printers, DOD inkjet printers, laser printers, thermal transfer printers, hot-foil printers, print & apply units and off-line feeding & coding systems.

Our committed service team is always ready when something unexpectedly occurs. In most cases we solve the "problem" over the phone. If this is not possible, we will often be at your doorstep within 24 hours.

Products
Makebright Laser
MakeBright: a patented laser solution that allows direct coding on (corrugated) cardboard boxes, without ink, labels, or other consumables. While lasers were previously known primarily for their ''burned-in'' appearance, MakeBright technology enables near-white marking on (corrugated) cardboard, optionally combined with a dark (bar) code, text, or symbol. This requires no special coating on the cardboard. MakeBright works on both recycled cardboard and virgin material, brown or white. The market demands additive-free solutions purely for sustainability goals. Inline printing on boxes is increasing, which also leads to increased ink consumption, maintenance, and planned (or unplanned) downtime. A laser operates without consumables: no ink, no cartridges, no labels, and minimal maintenance.
BetaJET Drop-on-demand (DoD) inkjet
Encoding with our upgraded Drop-on-demand systems (DOD) is perfect when it's crucial for you to print variable data directly onto the production line with high resolution. Even when grayscale images are desired up to a maximum print height of 72mm. betaJET systems not only provide you with the best printing results but also offer a very high level of reliability for daily production. The range of Koenig & Bauer Coding includes suitable models for all applications, ensuring that your individual coding requirements are also met.
4PL Print & Apply
The Print & Apply technology is ideal for printing variable data and information directly and accurately applying it individually with respect to shape, colour and material onto a variety of products and packaging with pinpoint precision. 4PL labelling solutions rely on the tried-and-test Zebra technology and can be modularly configured with different applicators. The Koenig & Bauer Coding portfolio offers models to meet your needs in every application to fulfil your individual coding requirements.
AlphaJET Continuous Inkjet
De alphaJET into, alphaJET evo, alphaJET tempo and alphaJET Pico tempo are the next generation of ink jet printers based on KBA-Metronic’s expertise gained from decades of inkjet design. The new alphaJETs are easy to operate, they print in high quality, at fast production speeds, with stainless steel housing, IP 65protection class, nozzle closure, operating temperature range and compressedair connection it also works under challenging environmental conditions.

Laser systems

4PL Cobot
The4PL-Robotman is the right labelling system if you want full agility for your production. It uses the cobot arm, which can be taught-in at the touch of a button, to apply labels to any areas of your product, even hard-to-reach areas (e.g. the inside of a crate). If the position of the labelling varies, we fit an appropriate scanner to the Robotman. It searches over control markers to identify the label position where it applies the label with pinpoint precision. You need the Robotman for different tasks or products? Taught-in processes can be saved and easily reproduced. It only takes a few hours to teach-in new processes and you can do this yourself. This certainly makes the Robotman a member of your agile production.
4PL Pallet
The 4PL pallet labelling system is a cost-effective standalone solution for the variable labelling of pallets. The compact system codes pallets reliably and safely. No additional safety housing or safety guard is required for using the 4PL pallet print & apply system within the scope of the Machinery Directive. This advantage saves money
thermal transfer printer (in-line)
The thermal transfer printers are available for continuous- and intermittent machines. Thermal transfer printer is a direct print module (in one print head unit) with high resolution for packaging and labelling machines. The ribbon cartridge is easy to change and available in different print widths.
