In the discussions about litter it seems that the value of these packaging is often underestimated. Do we let ourselves be guided too much by emotions instead of by the facts? What are the benefits of plastic packaging? What are the challenges and what does the future look like?

Packaging ensures less food waste and makes efficient transport of products possible. At the same time, we must ensure that our packaging does not end up in the environment. We also lose over 10 billion trees a year, and the consequences are not tender. For that reason, Empack cooperates with United Packaging Forest and we plant one tree per exhibitor, in Uganda or in the Dutch Biesbosch.

Everyone who deals with packaging knows that “making packaging circular” will play a major role in the coming years. Goals are set, measures taken, we must start using packaging differently and produce more sustainably. Everything must be recyclable and the recycled material must again be usefully usable again.
