Covid-19 FAQ

Empack FAQ

During the press conference of December 18 the government decided that from the period of December 19 until at least January 14 2022 The Netherlands will be in a lockdown. To contain the spread of the Omikron variant the amount of contact points has to be reduced. Therefore pass through locations like the Evenementenhal has to be closed. So far this lockdown has NO CONCEQUENCES regarding Empack. Below you will find the most asked questions.

The current lockdown is in place until at least January 14th 2022. Empack does not take place until after that date so the lockdown has no concequences for Empack. Friday January 14th the situation will be reassessed on the basis of an OMT (Outbreak Management Team) advice. Once there is more information we will let you know.

You can get access to the event by having one of the following:

Proof of vaccination:

Full corona vaccination with a European approved vaccine. In The Netherlands a vaccination will be valid 14 days after you have been fully vaccinated. If you are vaccinated with Janssen after August 14 2021 then your vaccination will be valid after 28 days. Usually you can automatically get your proof of vaccination from the RIVM or GGD on the Corona Check App.

Proof of recovery:

Proof of a positive corona test of a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 180 days prior.

Negative test proof:

A negative test result of less then 24 hours prior to your visit to the fair. Both a PCR and Antigen test are valid.

You can do this via the Corona Check App. You show the QR code in the Corona Check App upon entry. Don’t have a smartphone? Or do you prefer your corona ticket on paper? You can also print out the corona ticket via the website

A corona ticket is compulsory as of the age of 13. From the age of 14 onwards, a corona ticket and a valid ID (identity card, passport or driving licence) must be presented.

It is also possible to show other proof (yellow vaccination booklet or test certificate). This also applies to the proof of vaccination that you received during the vaccination in combination with an ID card.

The Corona entry pass check will take place before the fair entrance. In order to speed up the flow, we would like to ask you to keep your corona ticket at hand in combination with a valid ID. More information about the Corona Check App can be found at If you have any questions, please contact the helpdesk via 0800-1421 (free of charge).

The check applies to everyone who visits the fair:

– Visitors (from 13 years of age)

– Exhibitors (stand crew)

– Employees of Easyfairs

No, because the occupancy rate is low during those moments and keeping 1.5 metres distance is quite possible. Moreover, the open doors provide for extra air circulation.

Yes, the inspection takes place every day. A new inspection is also carried out if the exhibition floor is left in the meantime.

The safety of visitors, exhibitors and our own staff is our top priority. We are delighted to be able to open our doors again, but at the same time we want to keep the risk of infection as low as possible. Moreover, a negative test is only valid for 24 hours. That is why we have decided to set up a permanent corona control that has to be passed at all times before entering the exhibition floor. We hope for your understanding for this safety measure.

No, it is not possible to visit the fair without a valid corona ticket.

Yes, visitors aged 14 and over must show a valid ID (identity card, passport or driving licence) in addition to the corona ticket.

The situation will be reassessed by the government on 14 January 2022 on the basis of an OMT recommendation.

Sanitizer stations will be placed at various points on the exhibition floor so that you can disinfect your hands if you wish. At every stand there will be a possibility to disinfect your hands. In addition, we have further optimised our air-conditioning systems in the past period. This helps to limit the transmission of respiratory infections such as COVID-19. In addition, there is now an even healthier and more pleasant indoor climate in our exhibition halls.

The role of a trade fair is very important in many ways. There are several sectors in the Netherlands that have experienced the negative consequences of the corona pandemic. The Dutch government therefore sees stock exchanges as drivers of economic recovery. This is where supply and demand come together, tomorrow’s innovations are presented and the Dutch business community meets. There are industries that realise up to 40 per cent of their annual turnover at fairs. Trade fairs are also indispensable for other service providers, such as stand builders. The local and regional economy also benefits when a trade fair or event takes place, such as hotels, taxi services and restaurants.

We have recently conducted a large-scale survey among visitors to trade fairs taking place this autumn. In total, more than 6,000 respondents took part. This showed that 90% of the visitors intend to visit fairs again this autumn.

We have already organised the first fairs and we see that there is a great need to see each other face-to-face again. The first reactions from exhibitors also show that visitors now visit the fair in a very targeted way and that the quality of the visitors is very high.

Easyfairs Netherlands follows the government’s measures in this matter. European countries have agreed that every country should have a corona ticket system. They call it the EU Digital Corona Certificate (EU DCC). International exhibitors and visitors can enter the exhibition floor with their corona pass.

No, in case of a cancellation by the customer, the cancellation terms and conditions as stated in the relevant agreement apply. In case Easyfairs itself unexpectedly (has to) decide to cancel an exhibition or event, Easyfairs will consider on a case-by-case basis whether the event in question can be rescheduled.

You can register for the newsletter of Empack, through this way we will keep you informed of the developments.
